Come join us for our queer birdwatching and environmental policy event that will be held on Saturday, August 31st from 10-12 in Viikki, Helsinki. You will get about the connection between the state nature and environmental policy while enjoying nature with other queer people!
These are beginner friendly events, which means that you do not need to know anything about birds or environmental policy. Birdwatching as a hobby and policy spaces often lack representation from marginalized communities, which is why these events are being offered to the queer community in order to bridge these gaps. These events are targeted especially towards youth (up to 29), but are open to everyone!
If you have binoculars or a telescope, please bring them – otherwise, spares binoculars will be provided to share. Please check the weather and dress accordingly. The language of the event will be in English, but you will be taught Finnish bird names and there will be people who can assist with basic Finnish translations.
You will get the meeting location to your email once you have signed up and if you have any questions please feel free to email: Sommer.ackerman@luontoliitto.fi
