Come see a Free Movie screening of Once Upon a Time in a Forest on Thursday, 30th of October, beginning at 18:00 at Finnkino Itäkeskus. After the movie there will be a Q&A with young environmental activists from the film. The film will be shown in Finnish with English subtitles and the Q&A will also be in English.
No movie ticket is needed for this event, you can just walk in and choose your own seat! The entrance to the theater is on the first floor, through the shop. Hall 2 is located on the second floor of the theater.

The doors to the hall 2 will open at 5:30 pm.
The event starts at 6:00 pm.
The movie will begin at 6:15 pm after some welcome words.
The movie will end at around 7:50 pm.
There will be 30 minutes reserved for discussion after the film, until around 8:20 pm.

Once Upon a Time in a Forest (”Havumetsän lapset”) is an award winning Finnish documentary film directed by Virpi Suutari (2024). The documentary tells the story of about the Finnish forest industry and the protection of forests, following young activists for over a year. The environmental activists featured in the film defend some of Europe’s last remaining old growth forests. They face opposition from the Finnish forest industry and the Finnish national ideology that forests are the foundation of economic prosperity. This humane story takes viewers on an enchanting journey into the beauty of forests, but also confronts the viewers with its despair.
